The new smartphones of 2016 [VIDEO]


If you thought smartphones couldn't get any better, 2016 will see some exciting new features for smartphones including retina scanners and swap-out batteries.

Matthew Moniz from MobileSyrup (seen in the video above) gives a indepth analysis of what we can expect from the Top 5. Here's a quick breakdown of the highlights:

SAMSUNG GALAXY S7, S7 EDGE

  • bigger screens on both models

  • S7 rumoured to be water resistant

  • faster charging capability - 0 to 100% in 30 mins

  • better camera capabilities

  • retina scanner (rumoured)

LG G5

  • swap-out battery function

  • bigger size to 5.6 inches

  • dual cameras on the back to allow for wider shots and lower light

  • iris scanner

  • accessories can plug directly in to the phone in the magic slot (eg: an additional camera)

IPHONE 5SE

  • a more affordable iPhone

  • same size as the 5s

  • simlar specs and features of the iPhone 6

  • no 3D touch

GOOGLE's 2016 NEXUS

  • HTC rumoured to make two models

  • Google rumoured to produce phones itself going forward instead which means they can optimise hardware and software together

HTC ONE M10

  • likely to resemble A9

  • 3-4GB ram

  • quick charging battery

  • getting rid of the front external speakers to reduce the size of the phone
